Optics for the Infra-Red

Infra-red optics are finding application many fields including medical research and diagnosis, night vision and surveillance, and material processing.  Two wavebands are of importance, 3-5μm and 8-14μm.  Development of reliable carbon dioxide lasers emitting at 10.6μm has led to an increase in laser marking and machining applications.  We offer replacement lenses and mirrors for laser systems as well as a wide selection of components for R&D.  We can supply many types of infra-red optics so please contact us with your inquiry.  Here are some of the main products we offer- (click on the links for details and datasheets):

Infra-red Windows - a selection of different materials with good IR transmitting properties

Brewster Windows - polarization selective windows for use in high power laser systems

Laser Mirrors - high reflectors for CO2 Lasers at 10.6μm for normal and 45 deg incidence

Phase Retarding Laser Mirrors - phase control for improved beam focusing for CO2 Lasers

Metallic Coated Mirrors - broadband IR reflectors using gold or silver on silicon substrates

Partial Reflecting Laser Beamsplitters - split a CO2 laser into two beams with known intensity ratio

Pointing Beam Combiners - combines coaxial visible pointing laser with CO2 laser beam

Non-polarising Beamsplitters - beamsplitting, indepedent of polarisation at specific wavelengths

Thin Film Laser Polarisers  - separate CO2 laser output into two linearly polarised beams

Zinc Selenide & Germanium Plano-convex and Meniscus Lenses - focusing lenses for the infra-red

Zinc Selenide & Germanium Plano-concave Lenses - diverging lenses for the infra-red

Cylindrical Plano-convex and Cylindrical Plano-concave Lenses - uniaxial imaging for the infra-red

Long- & Short-pass Filters - dichroic separation filters with a sharp cut-off in the infra-red
