Plano-convex Lenses

Plano-convex lenses are often used to introduce power into an optical system.  When used with the curved surface towards a distant object they are close to the best form for minimization of spherical aberration.  They are therefore ideal for focusing an infinite source.   These plano-convex spherical lenses are made from either BK7 or Fused Silica.

They are supplied either uncoated or with a single layer anti-reflection coating suitable for the ultra-violet (200-350 nm), the visible (350 - 600 nm) or the near infra-red (600 – 1200 nm).

A wide range of focal lengths and diameters are available (see datasheet for common sizes and focal lengths).   Please ask for sizes and focal lengths required as we can supply a wide selection of these lenses.
