Prisms

Prismatic optics utilize both reflection and refraction to modify the light which is transmitted by them.  They may be used to turn or deviate a beam of light, to invert or rotate an image or to disperse light into a spatially separated wavelength spectrum.  Prisms are extremely important and useful optical elements.  We have a wide selection of standard prisms but if you don't see what you are looking for please contact us anyway.

Here are some of the main products we offer (click on the links for details and datasheets):

Right Angle Prisms - commonly used for 90° and 180° beam bending.

Dove Prisms - trapezoidal prisms used as image inverters and delay lines.

Rhombic Prisms - periscopic prisms which produce a laterally separated beams.

Penta-Prisms - constant deviation prisms turning an incoming beam through 270°.

Corner Cube Retroreflectors - two dimensional constant deviation prisms turning beam through 180°.

Equilateral Prisms - dispersing prisms used in spectroscopy.

Pellin Broca Prisms - constant 90° deviation dispersing prisms for use in laser line separation.

Brewster Prisms - dispersing prisms which work efficiently at the Brewster angle for spectral selection of laser beams.

Littrow Prisms - retro-reflecting dispersing prisms used in laser cavities for fine tuning.
