Plano-convex Lenses for the UV

Plano-convex lenses are often used to introduce power into an optical system.  When used with the curved surface towards a distant object they are close to the best form for minimization of spherical aberration.  They are therefore ideal for focusing an infinite source.

These UV plano-convex spherical lenses are made from either UV Fused Silica, VUV grade Calcium Fluoride or VUV grade Magnesium Fluoride.   They are supplied either uncoated or with a single layer anti-reflection coating suitable for the ultra-violet (200-350 nm).

 A wide range of focal lengths and diameters are available.  Here is a list of the most common sizes (in mm):
