Right Angle Prisms for the UV
These
right angle prisms made from UV Fused Silica convenient to mount and can be used
for both 90° and 180° beam bending. Light
incident normal to one of the faces is totally internally reflected at the next
face producing high efficiency reflection even without coating.
However, in order to accommodate a wider range of input angles, coating
the reflecting face is recommended. Entrance
and exit faces should also be anti-reflection coated.
Often
right angle prisms are used as substrates for special coatings.
They may also be cemented together to form beamsplitter cubes.

These
prisms are offered with four coating options:
U
- Uncoated – no coating at all
B
- AR on legs – no coating on hypotenuse
A
– AR on legs – protected Al on hypotenuse
F
– AR on hypotenuse – protected Al on legs
We can supply UV right angle prisms in a wide range of sizes including: 5.0, 6.35, 10.0, 12.7, 15.0, 20.0, 25.4, 38.1, or 50.8 mm.
